Schumacher Construction Co. is the Construction Manager for the construction of the new Salvation Army facility located in Massillon, Ohio.
This facility totals approximately 19,000 square feet of floor space and features a 150 seat Sanctuary with wood timber roof trusses and exposed wood decking, a 3,600 s.f. Multipurpose Room connected to a commercial Kitchen, three Classrooms, a Computer Lab, a large Working Closet for clothing distribution, a large Food Pantry with walk in Freezer and Cooler for food distribution, Counseling Offices, and Administrative Offices.
Schumacher Construction Co. has been providing advice and consulting to the Salvation Army for approximately ten years and was selected as the Construction Manager approximately 5 years ago. We initially assisted in the site selection, selection of the Architectural firm, and to provide the information needed for the capital campaign. Following a successful capital campaign, the design and bidding process was completed and ground broken in April 2010.
The project is progressing on budget and on schedule for occupancy prior to Christmas 2010.
Throughout this process, we’ve worked with the local Salvation Army leaders along with regional officials from the Cleveland office, and national officials from New York.
